District Heating and Cooling

District heating and cooling networks (DHC) are infrastructures that allow the extensive use of renewable energy sources to meet the intense energy demand of urban areas.
Relab group’s experience with renewables has been expanded and it also covers the integration with DHC systems. Our researchers have expertise in feasibility studies which aim to improve efficiency, reduce fossil fuel consumption and pollutant emissions of existing and new DHC systems; modelling and simulating networks, generation systems and user demands.

We support and cooperate with DHC suppliers and municipalities during the planning and operational phase and we participate in national and international research projects.
